Just at home.(haven't downloaded Arabic key board as yet).enjoying last few days of school holidays in cosy weather
well that's great. Now to try to curl up with an arabic story we read.
hi there i was wondering how to get started?
ما شاء الله عليكي
أنا استمتع درسي اليوم
انا سعيدة انك استمتعت بالدرس. ان شاء الله سيكون درس يوم الثلاثاء ممتعا ايضاً
salaam Muallimah Nadia
Azunnu ana left my Kissah fil bayti.Hal raaytum kitabi?
سلام يا رشيدة. لا لم ارى كتابك.
great to see you blogging :)
Salaam Nadia.i seemed to have gotten a gist of the noun declensions. The verbal measurements are a bit more complicated.Do you want us to summarise our basic understanding of it because there are 10?
Noun declension:is the tashkeel that the last letter in a noun takes,egالله can have a fattah, dammah or kasrah on the letter ه depending on the sentence.so if الله is the subject in the sentence,it will have an oo sound,if He isthe object,He will take on a er sound if He has a preposition He will have an ee sound
well done Shaida! thanks for researching the material and reporting back on your findings. I do not need too many details about the verbs on the blog. I am happy with a basic summary similar to what you wrote about the nouns.
Verbal measurements:inArabic words are derived from a root word most often 3 letters.Measures are changes that can be made to the 3 letter root to derive a different meaning but still related to the root word.eg changes made to the taskeel ofthe second letter or an addition of a letter b4 the root derives a new meaning.there r 10 measures
And those changes made represent different measures
السلام عليكم اخواتي

ما شاء الله عليكي يا فرح .. اول تعليق لكِ على الموقع اكثر من رائع

Just returned from the Women's retreat on The Gold Coast. One of the important highlights for me was the fact that I could read(arabic) and understand a number of the words/vocabulary in Hadith...it felt good!!I have come a loong way with the help of allah and your teaching.

We have caught up with a lot of family and friends that we haven't seen for 20 years.we had a wedding n a funeral and that's how I saw so many long lost cousins.
Inshallah we will see you soon n I hope you are doing well.it was great hearing from you.sorry for late reply.internet woes
You can gather by my late response to your question (Nov 12), that I have been very slack and have not been looking at the website.
I think we have had too long a break from Arabic so much so that I am feeling very nervous about statring the new level in a week.
Hope you and AK are well and I bet you are raring to go on 26/03/13!!!
Salaam Rashida, It is not a problem. That is the very nature of holidays. I wouldn't worry too much or get nervous about getting back into the game. For now welcome back to Arabic and to the site. We are both well thank you. I too am still in holiday mode :)
